Necros: PvE you'd probably see it easiest to be a Minion Master (Death Magic) unless there are no corpses in wherever you are. Farming-wise, you'd be going SS. Necros can vary from shutting down enemy targets, damage dealing, to degeneration pressure.
Rangers: Fight at a distance. As a ranger you'd probably go with pressuring your enemy with cheap and fast recharging bow attacks which cause various conditions and add a few interrupts or go with complete interrupts. Otherwise you can go with your pet and rely on him as your tank, easy to revive and cheap to heal.
Paragons: They're best in a team environment. Their chants and echos can greatly aid a team in killing their opponents faster. You can also go with your spear and chuck those to help with pressure.
My opinion is you go to http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page (guildwiki) and check out all the skill lists for each profession along with their elite skills. Guildwiki helped me choose my first profession, and I'm sure you'll get a lot more looking at each skill and then choosing what position you'd like to play.

It all depends on what YOU want to do.
Ranger:
A common misconception among PvE-ers is that they think the ranger is a damage class. They are wrong. The ranger's purpose in Guild Wars is to play as a primary interrupter and have great survivability. Naturally, in PvP settings they become a superb gank class. With the use of Barrage and Splinter Weapon, Ranger's have been able to get decent damage output but beyond that they are still an interrupting class.
Necromancer:
The Necromancer is probably the most versital profession in the game. The can deal great AoE damage, make minions, provide damage mitigation, and even become a teams primary healers.
Paragon:
The Paragon can is a bit more limited than a Necro. They deal great DPS and can provide a ton of party support. This class is known by many to get old quit so be warned.
I like Necro the best out of the three, closely followed by paragon with ranger last. That is my personal opinion though.

Necro would be my choice.
Anyone saying the benefit of a Ranger is fighting at range is wrong or I should say not 100% accurate. Wands and spears are ranged too. Any class can pickup a bow and shoot an arrow.
Tundra,
Since you love armor, which gender do you wish to be? Male or Female.
Necro/Rangers can utilize the Ranger's running abilities and utilize Marksmanship, Beast Mastery and Wilderness Survival (although I'd suggest not investing too much into a Ranger's attribute).
If you choose R/N, you become limited to the Necro's abilities, as Expertise does not work on spells (which is what Necromancers use).
Paragon's are ranged warriors, which means, they naturally have low energy, high armor and fight at ranged (the equivalent to a short bow's range I think). Paragon's main energy maintanence is from the Leadership attribute and only works on shouts and chants and how many people are affected.
There are arguements about the versatility of Necromancers and Rangers, as to who is more versatile.
Necros - SS, SV, MM, Blood Spike, Orders, Support, farm.
Rangers - Pet Master, Barrager, Interupter, Trapper, Toucher (only as R/N).
As stated nicely by Brian the Gladiator, it is YOUR CHOICE.
Good luck and have fun!

The rest of your post is ok, but i dont think that necros can really benefit from any of those lines, least of all marksmanship. To make a necro with a bow would be forcing it into a situation in which it is not suited.
Also, you forgot to mention the old R/N *gasp* touch ranger.

Necros are extremely useful profession in PvE. Quite versatile as you can play as AoE damage dealer (SS), single-target killer (SV Blood or Necrosis/Angorodon's Gaze spammer), or Minion Master (usually left to the heroes since they do it much better). You rarely see a Necro in PvP though.
Rangers are very versatile but few of their builds can play a crucial role in combat: Interrupter, Barrage AoE damager, and Enraged Lunge Beastmaster (great single target killer). Trappers, Life Stealing Touchers, Mass Degenerating, and Bow DPS/Spike Rangers are nice but unnecessary. Ranger are very fun to play in PvP, where many of their builds are much more useful.
Paragons have great spear DPS and great survivability (not as tough as Rangers, but they do more damage to make up for that). A Motivation Paragon with Save Yourselves, They're on Fire, and There's Nothing to Fear is the God Mode Button and the most useful build in PvE. They're ok in PvP where you have a party of 8 but they're not usually used anywhere else.
Oh, and Necros make good farmers while Rangers make good runners. Just thought I'd add that in. But if all you care about is armor... all that I said is useless and I can't really help you except by giving you this site: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Professions
